Story Info:
Main location: Semarn Islands
Other neighboring countries:
-Charden: main power in the world, has top sorcerer's college, main ports, and is trading capital(this is the country the Herron's tried to take over, when they took over the isles, charden couldn't DO anything because what they did didn't break international law.)
-Gaod: the main hideout for theifs, murderers, ruffians, and other shady characters..also home of the international blackmarket, all things illegal pass through here at one point
-Symal: its the agriculture country producing 40% of the entire world's food products, farms, river, also has the famed magic city, Jedun, a place for sorcerer's to stay for peace and learning after graduating from the college..most have some type of home there.
-Teruk: very harsh climate land with snow, glaciers, deserts, valleys, and mountains all rolled up into one. soem say it's the god's home entrance to the Immortal Realms and they make it almost impossible to get there by adding all these odd natural occurences. home to many outland tribes and outcasts..wild, powerful magic can be found in the land along with outlandish customs among the people.
and finally,
Semarn:
vacaction spot of a tropical paradise, with plentiful pineapple and sugarcane harvests. the islands are home to many exotic fruits that grow only there and also the jungles and mountains have many magical ingredients, cures, and powers that are astounding. Made up of 5 islands and 2 grottos offshore, the isles are wonderful. (except for the mishandling of ruling which cause many countries to not want to go there, except gaod..they don't care.)
1. the control island is Sahl, bigger than all the islands (but only just a lil bit bigger than Pedong)
has a few mountains that are more like tall hills and the Old forest.
-The grotto of welcome is the first thing that vistors see when coming to the islands. this is where most people get ready to enter the port and clean up at bit because the king decreed that all ships entering the harbor must be clean or presentable or they'll be confiscated and/or burned.
-Along the side of Sahl that faces the rest of the countries is a long northern coast called Raen. It is a fisher's paradise, u can find over 100 types of tropical fish.
-just north of that coast at the very tip of the island and at the warmest spot is the summer palace of faera in which the court of herron moves to in the winter when Tahg gets the yearly cold draft from the South Artic Tip.
-finally there's Tahg, the capital of the Semarn islands, home of the main trade, the court, the main palace, and the home of the royal family. in tahg, everything is monitored of the outer islands. it is in one of the lower harbors dotted along the right coast of Sahl and is right in front of the Old forest. the palace is specially built above the city on a small hill that is backed by mountains for extra protection. it is very cool.
- on the other side of the island which is very much ignored because of the dangerous creatures is the place where natives sneak people in and out of Sahl.
2. The second most biggest island in the isles is Pedong. It is the place where most natives live among ALL the isles. it is home to 1 of Semarn's biggest ports, besides Tahg; the port of lebon.
-it is also home to one of the world's famous healers who, is rumoured, to have healed a GOD. she has here own sanctuary in a covered mountain grotto surrounded by 2 rivers in which only the privilaged get to visit. she actally is the 2nd in command of the native mage circle after nai's grandfather and her home is a hospital for the seriously wounded natives who are important to be kept alive. Sengo's infirmary is a secret, awed place.
-also, pedong holds the infamous jungles of maru in which many a regimant of Herron armesmen have never came out alive. it is one of the main 2 training grounds for the native battle troops taht are scattered throughout the isles.
-it also has Semkali village, which is nai's and tamar's godparents home and their residence when they get time to go there (hardly).
-there is also the valley of rorr, named after a famous native warrior, that something will take place.
3.perhaps the boringest island is Ashoon. it is mainly the farmong part of the isles with overseers and the majority of the slave population. there is not royal ground there because nobles have their plantation and extra estates on that island. it is a good getaway if u are outta favor with the king. other nobles have snippets of land on other islands like Sahl, only 1 on Pedong, a good few in Merino, and none of Liaf. Mostly, its ashoon.
4. Merino is the northenmost isle in Semarn. it has a mountaiin range with pockets of forest in between. its very sparse, the poorest isle (in the rulers eyes) and it hosts the royal exile.
-Bolen is the place where important people, nobles, royals who have been displeasurable in the king's eye are sent. its a poor herd town with hardly nothing. palau is much more prosporous that bolen, actually if there wasn't palau to help, bolen would be a ghost town.
-it neighbors another town, palau which is actually hidden from the royals, they don't know it exists because it is the 2nd command post for the rebels after Pedong.
-it is the 2nd training grounds that are hidden from view from the Semarn society. the training ground here are the biggest than pedong because they're are NO ports on this island. to reach it, u have to cross a shallow bridge from the grotto of secrets that is on the eastern side of the island.
-there are many rivers, lakes, mountains, and forest that serve as good training groiund for terrain survival.
-also, palau is a main holding for the mages of the rebellion for their plans and everything.
5. lastly, but not least is the smalles t island, Liaf. Liaf has 1 port, mainly for transporting sugarcane harvest, the port of golen. has jungle full of luscious fruits that Semarn is famous for. The land is full of settlers on the east side.
-truth: the entire island of liaf is the underground quarters. The whole island is full of tunnels and all along the east coast, which is inhabited because of old legends and bad omens, is the headquarters that are shielded by a thick, dark forest. it ahs bulidings and tents, training areas, and nice living quarters for the main troop leaders and battle people.
- Nai only commands one of the regimets and a very peculiar one at that. they are mixed with women and men, trained to fight and spy at the same time. they do their assignments undercover and carry out orders in a different way. they are something the herron haven't seen before but there are still many problems and troubles for the rebellion that stop it from coming through.
and that is th end of my map description except for 1 thing.
the island lay out:
Sahl sticks out more than the rest, eastward with pedong right below it. Merino is way north than Sahl and a lil more inside that east. ashoon is westward between Sahl and Merino while liaf is wedged below it, close to the northwest area of pedong. the last 2 islands settle comfortably in the lil niche made by Sahl's west coast.
so, that's that. i'll explain the semarn layout with the rest of the world later.
goodnight!
